Financial support to help more girls access and stay in the game.

Need help with the cost of hockey? WCHC grants help cover essential hockey-related expenses so more girls and young women of colour can access and stay in the game.

What Do We Fund?

Eligible applicants can request up to $1,000 USD/CAD depending on residency for:

Registration & Team Fees

Seasonal hockey team and league registration costs

Learn to Play

Introductory hockey program fees

Hockey Equipment

Sticks, pads, skates, helmets, and gear

Travel Support

Transportation for games and tournaments

Other Essential Expenses

Any other hockey-related expenses that create barriers to participation

Requests are reviewed on an ongoing basis and approved by the WCHC Grants Committee.

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for funding, applicants must:

Be registered with a seasonal hockey team or a Learn to Play / introductory hockey program
Be ages 7–19
Demonstrate financial need
Reside in Canada or the United States
Identify as Black, Indigenous, or a person of colour

Players of all skill levels, from beginners to competitive athletes, are welcome to apply.

Application Guidelines

Applications are accepted year-round on a rolling basis

Applicants may request up to $1,000 per application

Applicants may apply up to two times per calendar year

Additional support may be considered in special circumstances

All applications are reviewed by the WCHC Grants Committee
